What is it?

AdmShine Cold-Applied Clear Coat is a hand-applied product that combines paint restoration and protection in a single step. It visually fills superficial scratches, wash marks, and swirl marks while forming a durable, transparent protective layer over the paintwork.

How does it work?

Unlike polishing, which removes a small amount of the factory clear coat to eliminate scratches, AdmShine works by optically filling imperfections and leveling the surface. The result is a noticeably improved appearance without the need for machine polishing.

Once applied, the coating self-levels in approximately 2 minutes – no buffing is required, and it leaves no streaks. Once fully cured, it forms a hard, transparent layer that repels water and dirt, helping the vehicle stay cleaner for longer and making it easier to wash.

Protection That Wears Instead of Your Clear Coat

Once cured, the coating acts as a sacrificial wear layer: everyday wear and tear – such as fine scratches and wash marks – affects the coating first rather than the vehicle’s original factory clear coat. This helps protect the valuable paintwork underneath.

Results

  • Deep, wet-look gloss
  • Visually fills micro-scratches and wash marks
  • Richer, deeper color
  • Hydrophobic protection against water, dirt, and chemicals
  • Long-lasting, durable coating (exact durability depends on operating and environmental conditions)

Suitable For

  • Restoring dull or faded paintwork
  • Concealing superficial scratches and wash marks
  • Quick paintwork restoration without machine polishing
  • Paintwork of all colors

Important to Know

This is not a ceramic coating or polishing compound – it is a hand-applied transparent clear coat.

The coating fills superficial scratches. It cannot repair deep scratches that penetrate through the clear coat or restore damaged paintwork – these require polishing or repainting.

Do not apply to vinyl wraps, PPF (paint protection film), glass, carbon fiber, or over existing protective coatings such as wax or ceramic coatings.

100 ml is enough to treat approximately half of a vehicle. The product can also be applied one section at a time without leaving visible transition lines.

Quick Application Guide

Wash and dry the vehicle thoroughly. Degrease the surface using the cleaner included in the kit. Apply the product with an applicator using even, straight strokes, then leave it to dry. Do not go back over areas that have already been coated – the coating will self-level.

Protect the vehicle from rain for the first 24 hours. The coating fully cures within 48 hours.

Detailed application instructions can be found further down the page.

  • Applicator
  • Protective gloves

ADMSHINE COLD-APPLIED CLEAR COAT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

AdmShine Clear Coat is not a ceramic/nano coating or a polishing product.

It is a self-leveling coating that:

  • Visually fills fine scratches and holograms;
  • Enhances color depth and provides a high-gloss finish;
  • Forms a protective film over the clear coat and painted surface;
  • Once fully cured, helps protect the vehicle’s original clear coat from wear.

For best results, follow the application instructions below.

1. Surface Assessment

Before applying the product, carefully assess the condition of the panel.

The surface must be clean, dry, degreased, and free from wax, oils, and other residues.

2. Surface Preparation

Before application, thoroughly degrease the surface using the supplied AdmShine Cleaner and a microfiber cloth.

Proper surface preparation is one of the most important factors affecting the final result. Inadequate surface preparation is the most common cause of unsatisfactory results.

3. Preparing the Applicator

Choose one side of the applicator to use for applying the product.

Evenly saturate the applicator surface with the Cold-Applied Clear Coat. The application side must be fully saturated, with no dry areas.

Proper and even saturation of the applicator is essential for achieving a good result.

Reapply additional product to the applicator every 2–4 passes.

4. Applying the Product

Begin application at one edge of the panel and slowly work your way toward the opposite edge.

Apply the product in even, overlapping passes, maintaining consistent pressure on the applicator and uniform coverage across the entire surface.

Important: Avoid going back over areas that have already been coated or applying additional product over them. Corrections can be made within approximately 8 seconds, before the product begins to self-level and cure.

5. Self-Leveling Process

After application, the product begins to self-level.

Depending on the ambient temperature and environmental conditions, this process typically takes approximately 2–10 minutes.

6. Curing and Protection

After application, the vehicle must be kept in a dry environment for at least 48 hours.

During this period, avoid rain, washing, high humidity, and any other contact with water.

Moisture during the curing process may cause white or cloudy/matte spots to appear.

Additional Recommendations

  • Do not apply the product in direct sunlight or to a hot surface.
  • Recommended application temperature: +10 °C to +25 °C.
  • Before treating an entire panel, test the product on a small, less visible area.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Do Not Apply To:

  • Wrapped surfaces (vinyl wraps)
  • PPF (Paint Protection Film)
  • Existing protective coatings (wax, ceramic coatings, etc.)
  • Glass
  • Carbon fiber
  • Interior surfaces

Results

Once fully cured, the coating provides:

  • Richer, deeper color;
  • Increased gloss;
  • Visually concealed fine scratches and holograms.

Important to Understand

AdmShine Clear Coat:

  • Restores and enhances the vehicle’s appearance;
  • Visually fills fine scratches;
  • Does not repair deep scratches;
  • Does not restore damaged paint or clear coat.

How to Remove AdmShine Clear Coat

If you wish to remove the product:

Generously spray the surface with AdmShine Cleaner and wipe it with a microfiber cloth. The less time that has passed since application, the easier the product will be to remove.

After 24 hours, the protective film formed by the coating can be removed by polishing.

During the first few days, light polishing is usually sufficient.

If the coating has fully cured, more intensive polishing may be required.

Most Common Application Mistakes

❌ Too little product → may cause streaking.

❌ Excessive applicator pressure → may result in uneven coverage and streaking.

❌ Application in cold conditions → may cause poor self-leveling and a rainbow-like effect.

❌ Application in hot conditions → may cause the product to dry too quickly and leave streaks.

❌ Improper surface preparation → may reduce the durability and longevity of the coating.

❌ Moisture during curing → may cause white spots to appear.

Usage

Detailed instructions

The better you prepare the surface, the more beautiful the gloss will be and the longer the coating will last.

Preparation (the most important part)

1

Wash the surface

Thoroughly wash the bodywork and remove any residue from old products, such as wax or other protective coatings. The final result largely depends on the preparation.

2

Dry thoroughly

The surface must be completely dry. Do not apply the product to a damp surface.

3

Degrease the surface

Clean the area you will be covering with the degreaser/cleaner included in the kit. After degreasing, try not to touch the surface with your hands.

Application

4

Shake the bottle and moisten the applicator

Shake the bottle well before use. Apply enough product to the applicator to evenly moisten the working side of the applicator. If you feel the applicator starting to dry out during application, apply a little more product.

5

Apply to the body

Start with the upper body and move downwards. Apply the applicator very lightly, moving in straight strokes from one edge of the chosen body part to the other. Distribute the product evenly, without strong pressure.

6

Let the coating self-level

After applying the coating, it self-levels in approximately 1–2 minutes. After this time, do not return to the already coated area and do not re-apply the coating.

Drying

7

Allow to dry

For the first 24 hours, protect the car from rain, water, and moisture. If covering outdoors, ensure no precipitation is expected for the next day. The coating fully hardens within 48 hours. After that, it can be maintained like a regular car paint surface.

If you made a mistake

If the coating is still fresh and has not yet hardened, it can be cleaned within the first few minutes using the degreaser-cleaner included in the kit, and the area can be recoated.

Common mistakes

  • Surface not cleaned or not degreased properly
  • Returning to an already coated area
  • Overly dry applicator
  • Rain or moisture within the first 24 hours
  • Application on a hot body or in direct sunlight

Tips

  • 100 ml is enough for about half a car. You can also apply it in sections – the transition should not be visible.
  • We recommend using protective gloves.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Up to 3 years. The exact time depends on the conditions of use - heat, cold, sun, chemicals used, etc.

It depends a lot on how the car is used and on environmental conditions, so it's difficult to say precisely. Faster wear is caused by heat, constant direct sunlight, automatic car washes, and harsh chemicals.

100 ml is enough for about half a car.

Yes, you can. The transition won't be visible if the untreated part is not very faded.

It can also be applied outdoors if no rain is expected for the next 24 hours.

Yes. It's essentially a material that can be used instead of polishing – to remove micro-scratches and enhance color.

No. The applied coating self-levels for about 2 minutes.

Yes, the coating levels out as it dries. Once fully cured, it can be used as a regular lacquer.

Yes, polishing can be done after 48 hours.

Yes, it repels water well and withstands washing without problems.

This is not ceramics, but a "clear coat" layer. You can apply it without gloves if you know how, but we recommend wearing them.

The peeled area, which no longer has lacquer, will start to shine. However, if you don't sand the surrounding contour, the transition will still be visible.
